INTRO TO EARTHQUAKES

Earthquakes affect many people today this is a blog to spread awareness, knowledge, and safety protocol. We are a group of middle school students who are doing this for a project but don’t take us for fools because we are getting our info from reputable sources and will cite or sources. Lastly, thank you for reading this blog we hope this can give you the info that you need.

Info you need to know about earthquakes

First, you should know how earthquakes are started, an earthquake is caused by a slip on a fault. The tectonic plates move but they get stuck at their edges due to friction. When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction it slips and there is an earthquake that releases energy in waves that travel through the earth’s crust and cause the shaking that we feel. Now in case of an emergency you should have these things in a safety kit,

•  water bottles 
•  canned/packaged foods
•  first-aid
•  flashlights

How other countries are preparing

Japan is one of the countries who are in a lot of danger, because Japan is located where several continental and oceanic plates meet. They wanted to be prepared so they have “disaster theme parks”. The theme parks have many different rooms that help you be prepared and experience the disasters before they happen. We believe that America should also have this to help make everyone prepared.
